What Is? And What Is Not?

This blog has been quiescent for a while.

But I have been writing about science.

The result is the second book in the Time trilogy.* It is Time Now: The True Nature of Reality, which will be published in hardcover and eBook editions by Rodin Books on 16 September 2025.

Time Now assembles seminal ideas from many, mostly famous, sources to build a consistent worldview that aims to be true. It’s a feast for Einstein fans.

It leads to a simple picture. For example, it concludes there is only a single law of nature–a law of stunning simplicity–and that all the laws of physics derive from it.

It makes consistent sense of the philosophy, the physics and even the mathematics of reality from Planck-scale to the entire universe, from its beginning until now.

It leads to a clear and simple and consistent understanding of the answer to that troubling question: What is time?

It explains why the James Webb Space Telescope is finding big black holes and galaxies far too soon after the universe began.

It offers an explanation for supermassive black holes emitting vast faster-than-light jets that can shape entire galaxies of billions of stars.

It says the grand nineteenth- and twentieth-century project to place arithmetic on a sound logical foundation (that failed) can begin again and should succeed this time.

And it reveals the intimate relationship between us yoomin beans and the the rest of the world.

Which is to say, it is a simple true-life story with deep roots in science history; and it explains a lot.

Ordering should open sometime in April.

*Time One was the first. The third book, Time Out, is underway.
